Give glory to the Lord, and call upon his name: declare his deeds among the Gentiles.

Sing to him, yea sing praises to him: relate all his wondrous works.

exultate in nomine sancto eius laetetur cor quaerentium Dominum
laudamini in nomine sancto eius laetetur cor quaerentium Dominum
Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

quaerite Dominum et virtutem eius quaerite faciem eius iugiter
quaerite Dominum et confirmamini quaerite faciem eius semper
Seek ye the lord, and be strengthened: seek his face evermore.
|

recordamini mirabilium eius quae fecit signorum et iudiciorum oris eius
mementote mirabilium eius quae fecit prodigia eius et iudicia oris eius
Remember his marvellous works which he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth.

O ye seed of Abraham his servant; ye sons of Jacob his chosen.

ipse Dominus Deus noster in universa terra iudicia eius

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
|

recordatus est in aeternum pacti sui verbi quod praecepit in mille generationes
memor fuit in saeculum testamenti sui verbi quod mandavit in mille generationes
He hath remembered his covenant for ever: the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
|

quod pepigit cum Abraham et iuramenti sui cum Isaac
quod disposuit ad Abraham et iuramenti sui ad Isaac
Which he made to Abraham; and his oath to Isaac:

et firmavit illud cum Iacob in lege cum Israhel pactum sempiternum
et statuit illud Iacob in praeceptum et Israhel in testamentum aeternum
And he appointed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting testament:

dicens tibi dabo terram Chanaan funiculum hereditatis vestrae
dicens tibi dabo terram Chanaan funiculum hereditatis vestrae
Saying: To thee will I give the land of Chanaan, the lot of your inheritance.
|

cum essent viri pauci modici et advenae in ea
cum essent numero breves paucissimos et incolas eius
When they were but a small number: yea very few, and sojourners therein:

et transierunt de gente in gentem de regno ad populum alterum
et pertransierunt de gente in gentem et de regno ad populum alterum
And they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.
|
| 14 |
non dimisit hominem ut noceret eis et corripuit pro eis reges
non reliquit hominem nocere eis et corripuit pro eis reges
He suffered no man to hurt them: and he reproved kings for their sakes.
|
| 15 |
nolite tangere christos meos et prophetas meos nolite adfligere
nolite tangere christos meos et in prophetis meis nolite malignari
Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.
|
| 16 |
et vocavit famem super terram omnem virgam panis contrivit
et vocavit famem super terram omne firmamentum panis contrivit
And he called a famine upon the land: and he broke in pieces all the support of bread.

misit ante faciem eorum virum in servum venundatus est Ioseph

He sent a man before them: Joseph, who was sold for a slave.
|

adflixerunt in conpede pedes eius in ferrum venit anima eius
humiliaverunt in conpedibus pedes eius ferrum pertransiit anima eius
They humbled his feet in fetters: the iron pierced his soul,
|
| 19 |
usque ad tempus donec veniret sermo eius eloquium Domini probavit eum
donec veniret verbum eius eloquium Domini inflammavit eum
Until his word came. The word of the Lord inflamed him.
|
| 20 |
misit rex et solvit eum princeps populorum et dimisit illum
misit rex et solvit eum princeps populorum et dimisit eum
The king sent, and he released him: the ruler of the people, and he set him at liberty.
|
| 21 |
posuit eum dominum domus suae et principem in omni possessione sua
constituit eum dominum domus suae et principem omnis possessionis suae
He made him master of his house, and ruler of all his possession.
|
| 22 |
ut erudiret principes eius secundum voluntatem suam et senes eius sapientiam doceret
ut erudiret principes eius sicut semet ipsum et senes eius prudentiam doceret
That he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his ancients wisdom.
|
| 23 |
et ingressus est Israhel Aegyptum et Iacob advena fuit in terra Ham
et intravit Israhel in Aegyptum et Iacob accola fuit in terra Cham
And Israel went into Egypt: and Jacob was a sojourner in the land of Cham.

et crescere fecit populum suum nimis et roboravit eum super hostes eius
et auxit populum eius vehementer et firmavit eum super inimicos eius
And he increased his people exceedingly: and strengthened them over their enemies.
|
| 25 |
convertit cor eorum ut odio haberent populum eius ut dolose agerent contra servos illius
convertit cor eorum ut odirent populum eius ut dolum facerent in servos eius
He turned their heart to hate his people: and to deal deceitfully with his servants.
|

misit Mosen servum suum Aaron quem elegit sibi
misit Mosen servum suum Aaron quem elegit ipsum
He sent Moses his servant: Aaron the man whom he had chosen.
|
| 27 |
posuit in eis verba signorum suorum et portentorum in terra Ham
posuit in eis verba signorum suorum et prodigiorum in terra Cham
He gave them power to shew them signs, and his wonders in the land of Cham.
|
| 28 |
misit tenebras et contenebravit et non fuerunt increduli verbis eius
misit tenebras et obscuravit et non exacerbavit sermones suos
He sent darkness, and made it obscure: and grieved not his words.
|
| 29 |
commutavit aquas eorum in sanguinem et occidit pisces eorum
convertit aquas eorum in sanguinem et occidit pisces eorum
He turned their waters into blood, and destroyed their fish.
|
| 30 |
ebullivit terra eorum ranas in cubiculis regum eorum
dedit terra eorum ranas in penetrabilibus regum ipsorum
Their land brought forth frogs, in the inner chambers of their kings.
|
| 31 |
dixit et venit musca omnimoda scinifes in universis terminis eorum
dixit et venit cynomia et scinifes in omnibus finibus eorum
He spoke, and there came divers sorts of flies and sciniphs in all their coasts.
|
| 32 |
dedit pluvias eorum grandinem ignem flammantem in terra eorum
posuit pluvias eorum grandinem ignem conburentem in terra ipsorum
He gave them hail for rain, a burning fire in the land.
|
| 33 |
et percussit vineam eorum et ficum eorum et confregit lignum finium eorum
et percussit vineas eorum et ficulneas eorum et contrivit lignum finium eorum
And he destroyed their vineyards and their fig trees: and he broke in pieces the trees of their coasts.

dixit et venit lucusta et bruchus cuius non erat numerus
dixit et venit lucusta et bruchus cuius non erat numerus
He spoke, and the locust came, and the bruchus, of which there was no number.
|

et comedit omne faenum terrae eorum et devoravit fructum terrae eorum
et comedit omne faenum in terra eorum et comedit omnem fructum terrae eorum

And they devoured all the grass in their land, and consumed all the fruit of their ground.

et percussit omne primogenitum in terra eorum primitias universi partus eorum
et percussit omne primogenitum in terra eorum primitias omnis laboris eorum
And he slew all the firstborn in their land: the firstfruits of all their labour.

et eduxit eos cum argento et auro et non erat in tribubus eorum infirmus
et eduxit eos in argento et auro et non erat in tribubus eorum infirmus
And he brought them out with silver and gold: and there was not among their tribes one that was feeble.

laetata est Aegyptus cum egrederentur quoniam inruerat terror eorum super eos
laetata est Aegyptus in profectione eorum quia incubuit timor eorum super eos
Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them lay upon them.

expandit nubem in tentorium et ignem ut luceret nocte
expandit nubem in protectionem eorum et ignem ut luceret eis per noctem
He spread a cloud for their protection, and fire to give them light in the night.

petierunt et adduxit ortygometran et pane caelesti saturavit eos
petierunt et venit coturnix et panem caeli saturavit eos
They asked, and the quail came: and he filled them with the bread of heaven.

aperuit petram et fluxerunt aquae cucurrerunt in aridis flumina
disrupit petram et fluxerunt aquae abierunt in sicco flumina
He opened the rock, and waters flowed: rivers ran down in the dry land.

quia recordatus est verbi sancti sui cum Abraham servo suo
quoniam memor fuit verbi sancti sui quod habuit ad Abraham puerum suum
Because he remembered his holy word, which he had spoken to his servant Abraham.
|

et eduxit populum suum in laetitia laudantes electos suos
et eduxit populum suum in exultatione et; electos suos in laetitia
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.
|
| 44 |
et dedit eis terras gentium et laborem tribuum possederunt
et dedit illis regiones gentium et labores populorum possederunt
And he gave them the lands of the Gentiles: and they possessed the labours of the people:
|
| 45 |
ut custodirent caerimonias eius et leges eius servarent alleluia
ut custodiant iustificationes eius et legem eius requirant
That they might observe his justifications, and seek after his law.
